¹ Johnny Valentine, Paul Jones, and Wahoo McDaniel were the only Mid-Atlantic Champions to wear two different versions of the belt. Photos are presented wearing both. For more details, see "Origin of the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship"

² Johnny Valentine, Ric Flair, and Wahoo McDaniel were recognized as Mid-Atlantic Champion while wearing the old Eastern States title belt. It is still a mystery as to what happened to the original Mid-Atlantic belt first presented to Jerry Brisco. For more details, see "Origin of the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship"
