The Voice of Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling

BOB CAUDLE

One of the most emotional moments of the night came when David Crockett introduced former broadcast partner Bob Caudle, who suffered two heart attacks in June, but vowed to be at Fanfest. The popular voice of Mid-Atlantic wrestling, and later Smoky Mountain Wrestling, Caudle got a standing ovation and a tribute from his son Michael, a doctor in Knoxville, Tenn.

"Deep down, we are all wrestling fans and we are all fans of my dad," he said. Father responded that he enjoyed "a great ride ... we had the greatest talent and not only that, but we had the greatest fans."

DAVID CROCKETT

David Crockett, one of Jim's sons and a TV announcer in his own right, said he was thrilled to see the recognition accorded to the stars of the promotion. "I grew up with these guys rode with these guys ... I'm so pleased to be here with them again."

"Wrestlers came and went, the theme music would change, the set in the studio would change, the co-hosts would change over the years. But the one constant was always Bob Caudle. He was there every week for over three decades when we turned on our television sets. Dependable, reliable, the rock, the foundation of Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling."   -Dick Bourne, Mid-Atlantic Gateway
