"I first met George South wrestling in Atlanta in the early eighties at TBS Studios. George was phenomenal! I truly enjoyed our matches. Before long, I prayed every match was with George. Working with him in the ring assured me of the best match on the show.

One thing I love about George is that he takes great pride in making his opponent look as good as possible. Even when that opponent wasn't as good as he looked! If the business were full of George South's, wrestling would be a much better sport.

I'm proud to be able to call George one of my very dearest friends. I'm always looking forward to my next match with him. I hope the fun never ends for either of us!"

- Brad Armstrong

Recent e-mail exchange between Blackjack Mulligan and George South:

George:  I just worked with Greg Valentine in Mississippi. I shot him off into the ropes and said "Blackjacks claw!"  He started laughing as I put him in it. He told me in the ring that my claw glove don't smell as good as yours did, haha.

Blackjack: You have to get that glove stinkin', that's the secret to its success!

I'm paying tribute here to the late great Chief Wahoo McDaniel, doing the war dance during a match with Brad Armstrong in Spartanburg. I love working with Brad. And I miss Wahoo so much.  -George
