ABC3 To Help Raise Money For the Independence High School Wrestling Team

The third Anderson Brothers Classic Tag Team Tournament (ABC3) is helping raise money for the Independence High School Wrestling team in Charlotte. Independence High School is the host venue for the ABC3.

Head Wrestling Coach, and long time Mid-Atlantic Wrestling fan, Greg Davidson is excited about what the tournament will mean for his team.

"We are raising money to help buy a new scale, new uniforms, and a portable scoreboard so that we can start doing matches in the schools mall area instead of the gym," Davidson said. The funds raised from the pro-wrestling tournament will also help fund camp and clinical opportunities for his athletes. "We are in a big rebuilding period with the team, however, my big boys always seem to come through."

Davidson is a long time wrestling fan and is excited about being a part of a tournament that honors two of his childhood heroes, Ole and Gene Anderson. Davidson was lifelong friends with the late legendary wrestler Klondike Bill.

While many high schools have huge operating budgets for marquee sports like football and basketball, smaller sports often feel the funding pinch. You can help support the Independence High School Patriots wrestling program by attending the Anderson Brothers Classic Tag Team Tournament on May 5th at Independence High School in Charlotte.
