Anderson Brothers Tournament Brackets Monday Night, May 5, 2008 • Independence High School Arena • Charlotte NC
Family affair: The ABC3 featured two father & son teams: Bobby Eaton and son Dillon Eaton; George South and son George South Jr. In the history of the tournament, there have been three father and son combinations, the third being Bob Armstrong and son Brad Armstrong, who competed in ABC1. Brad Anderson served as Special Referee for the tournament championship match in ABC3. Brad is also a former tournament winner, having taken the honors in ABC1 with partner George South. Two ABC3 participants were former ABC champions: George South won ABC1 with partner Brad Anderson. Ethan Cage won ABC2 with partner Bobby Houston. Title Time: The EWA Heavyweight championship has only been defended at one tournament event, ABC2, where then EWA Champion Masked Superstar defeated Jason Jones. Only one title has changed hands at a tournament event, ABC2, where "Asian Sensation" Mike Lee won the EWA Jr. Heavyweight title in a special battle royal. Reigning EWA Champions in this tournament: George South (EWA Heavyweight Champion), Bobby Eaton (Georgia Heavyweight Champion), George South Jr. (Jr. Heavyweight Champion). Tribute: Both Ethan Cage and Jack Funk used the "Anderson Slam" on opponents at different points in the tournament, paying tribute to the Anderson Brothers who made the move famous. TV Star Power: Deon Davis (part of the Cruel Connection team) recently appeared on WWE Raw playing the role of Barack Obama.
